Colombo to Weligama by Train

Trains leave from COLUMBO FORT station – a distance across town from the RATMALANA AIRPORT. 1 hour plus in a taxi depending on traffic even though its only 17km. Still seems no train link between the two. Stick with the Express trains.

The total train journey is 3 to 4 hours from Colombo. There are more direct trains than ever. First Class ticket is 400 LKR, Second is 220 LKR. You can get a local Tuk Tuk from outside Weligama station for 300-400 to your destination.
