Midigama, Lazy Left Surf Break
Lazy Left as it’s name suggests is a mellow left hand wave on a deep reef that holds to 5-6ft on a good day. You can get some really long rides up to 500m on this one and its mostly a deep reef so fairly forgiving.
Great for intermediate surfers and advanced with a big swell. Perfect first reef break if you are a beginner as it is generally a very predictable wave. Lazy’s works best at low tide so in reverse to most of the other breaks in the region. Good news if your goofy and a late riser. Evening sessions tend to be busy.
There is also a Lazy Right a short paddle from the left.
It is located just south of Midigama station. There are an number of cafe guest houses nearby. Best to take minimal things to leave on the beach.
Cheeky Monkey has a great surf shop, for board hire and accessories.

Kite Board Lazy’s
Both beaches in the bay have a sand bottom entry and get deep quickly (so not suitable for small kids) but good for kiteboarding. Generally when the wind is high enough around mid day the points are blown out for the surfers.
Bubba’s Surf Shop & School
Probably the best surf shop in the region, a comprehensive selection of boards and accessories. Surf school and guiding. Just in front of Cheeky Monkey across the road from Lazy’s. Nice new cafe and chill out area too.
